Yung-Ping vocational high school was founded in 1970. At the very beginning of the foundation, 董事長loyalty, forbearance, diligence and resolution were made the mottos of the school, and were aimed at encouraging students to treat people with loyal and resolute attitudes. The attitudes stated above can be the fundamentals, which cultivate one’s moral character, regulate one’s relationship with family and furthermore establish businesses.

In the beginning of the foundation, there was only one two-floor building, which was named Zhong-Xiao building. Three departments were established- Repairing Electrical  Appliances, Architectures, and Automobile Mechanics; five classes of 138 students were recruited during this time. The entrepreneur, Mr.Chu Jen-Tsai, took over the School  in 1996 and kept the perspective of perpetuity and sincerity  to run the school. He took the control with the thought of being a long and serious undertaking.

The coordinating to fit in with society pulsation and his heedful management made the progress on the reputation of the school day by day. Recruiting departments are Department of Restaurant Management, Department of Tourism Industry, Department of Auto Mechanics, Department of Computer Science, Department of Data Processing, Department of Child Protecting and Department of Advertisement. There are seven departments and 124 classes now. In order to keep pace with the national policy of developing hospitality service industry, the school board of trustees decided to establish the Department of Restaurant Management in 1992. In the beginning, there were only 17 students enrolled to the department. However, the school board of trustees is still devoted to promoting the department with sagacity. Initially, the Hong-Dao Building was built for the students’ practical training in culinary skills. However, as the enrollment of students was increased, the practical training workshops in the Hong-Dao Building had become insufficient.

Therefore, the school board of trustees decided to rearrange a five-story building for the Departments of Restaurant Management and the Department of Tourism Industry. The building is not only luxuriously ornamented with five-star interior design but also has several professional workshops with ample equipment available, including Teppanyaki workshop, Japanese food workshop, Western cuisine workshop, Bartending workshop, Baking workshop, and Chinese pastry workshop. These professional workshops enable students to cultivate the abilities and skills that are essential to the hospitality service industry. The students of Yung-Ping have won numerous awards with their outstanding performances in national and international competitions over past years. Many of our graduates continue with their further study in colleges while other graduates have a reputation of having good attitudes and abilities in the hospitality industry.
